Carpet Cleaning Services 2 How to Remove a Stain from your Carpet

A great looking carpet can often be the centrepiece of any home and it’s a great way to define your style. Looking after your carpet is often easier said than done when an unwanted stain pops up and it can really affect the way that you feel about your carpet. Depending on the type of food, drink or item that caused the stain, you might not be able to remove it, but before giving up here’s a few things that you can do.

First of all, try the milk cleaning remedy. Warm milk works best as it can help to lift the dirt away, so heat up a small amount and apply it to a clean cloth.

Wipe in circular motions around the stain and if it comes out, then be sure to rinse any milky residue away with clean water otherwise the milk may settle and then begin to smell.

If the milk remedy hasn’t worked, then consider something with a little bit more of a harsher chemical composition. White vinegar for example can be an excellent stain remover as it’s colorless and contains enough natural acids to break down even the most stubborn of stains. Apply a little bit of white vinegar, or cider vinegar if that’s all you have to hand to a clean sponge or cloth. Massage the stained area in circular motions and apply a little bit more vinegar whenever you feel the cloth or sponge drying.

There aren’t many stains that white vinegar can’t lift away, carpet mold removal but sometimes a few separate treatments might be necessary. If you find that your stain is a little too stubborn to go away after the first attempt, then rinse the area that you applied vinegar with warm water and allow it to dry and then reapply the vinegar formula again. If you find that even several attempts hasn’t lifted the stain away then it might be time to call in the big guns.

You’ll find several heavy duty cleaners on the market, most of which contain bleach. People prefer to avoid using bleach on upholstery, but if your carpet is already white then there shouldn’t be a problem with using bleach; if not then you may want to look at alternate methods. If you decide to go ahead with bleaching the stain, then just apply a small amount of the bleach liquid to a clean sponge and pat it gently in to the stain. Allow it to sit for fifteen to thirty minutes and then rinse it away with clean, warm water. If the stain’s lifted then the job’s been taken care of.

If you’re still unsure of how to remove the stain, then it’s a good idea to get in touch with a carpet cleaning services provider. They’ll be able to evaluate your carpet and then treat the stain with formulas that aren’t available to the general public, so you can be quite guaranteed of success.
